Marlene Kae Sorensen

Marlene Kae Sorensen, age 66, of Freeport, IL, passed on March 28, 2024 at FHN Hospital, in Freeport. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a memorial service at First Presbyterian Church, in Savanna, Saturday, July 20, at 3 p.m.

Marlene was born December 22, 1957, in Carroll, IA, the daughter of Wiliam and Jean Skow. She grew up in Savanna, IL, graduating from Savanna High School. Marlene made a career working for Eaton Corp., retiring after 35 years.

Always a lover of animals, Marlene kept horses and cared for many cats and dogs throughout her life.

Marlene is survived by her daughter, Charlene Sorensen; sisters, Nancy (Carl) Carpenter and Sharon (Kurt) Arndt; brother-in-law Troy Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Jean, and her sister, Sandra Jones.
