Mark A. Simmons; age 53, of Mount Carroll, Illinois, passed away March 8, 2006 at Morrison Community Hospital. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006 the Frank-Law Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Reverend Rick Zickefoose of the Mt. Carroll Church of God will officiate. Burial will take place in Ladies Union Cemetery, Stockton, Illinois. Friends may call from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Frank-Law Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Memorials maybe made in Mark’s name.
Mark was born June 16, 1952, the son of Floyd E. and Jessie M. (Stone) Simmons in Freeport, Illinois. He graduated from Lanark High School, Class of 1970. On October 10, 1980, Mark married Norma Salzer in Mt. Carroll. He worked as a Carpenter and Auto Mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, traveling and exploring local points of interest. He loved the outdoors and all it had to offer.
Mark will be deeply missed by his wife, Norma, two sons, Mychael D. Salzer and Raymond P. McCann of Carbondale, Illinois; two brothers, Tom (Luann) Simmons of Verona, Wisconsin and Leland (Zyanna) Simmons of Platteville, Colorado; one sister, Irene (John) Marean of Scioto Mills, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Elmer, Roger, and Stanley and one infant sister, Donna.
