Marjorie D. Muller, age 84, of Bellevue, Iowa, formerly of Sabula, Iowa, died Monday, March 7, 2011, at home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Sabula, with Rev. Robert Krueger officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois.
Marjorie was born November 22, 1926, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Mervin and Nellie (Isabell) Merrick. She married Wesley N. Muller Sr. on May 25, 1955, in Galena, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2004.
Marjorie was a homemaker and she and Wesley lived in West Chicago, Illinois, for twenty years. They then moved their family to Sabula in 1971 when they purchased, operated, and bartended at Wes & Marge’s Tap in Sabula for fifteen years. She was a past member of the V.F.W. Women and the American Legion Auxiliary in Sabula. Marjorie was a collector of porcelain dolls and Santa Clauses. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking in the woods, mushroom hunting, word puzzles, shopping and playing cards. Marjorie loved her family and loved spending as much time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as she could.
Marjorie is survived and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Sherri Chrest of Sabula, Iowa, and Faye (Michael) Roe of Bellevue, Iowa; one son, Michael (Jeanette) Muller of Maquoketa, Iowa; nine grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wesley N. Muller Sr.; two sons, Wesley Muller Jr. and Brian Muller; two grandchildren, Heidi Muller and Wesley Muller III; one sister, Donna Busch; and two brothers, Kendall Merrick and Clifford Merrick Sr.
