Marilyn R. Roe , age 72, formerly of Sabula, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 in the Eagle Point Nursing Home, Clinton, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Sabula, Iowa. Reverend Robert Krueger of Calvary Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Eagle Nursing Home, Clinton, Iowa in Marilyn’s name.
Marilyn was born August 9, 1933, the daughter of Neal and Juanita (Mercer) King in Clinton, Iowa. On September 28, 1950 Marilyn married Kenneth W. Roe in Bellevue, Iowa. He passed away June 14, 1988.
Marilyn worked for National Lock, Elkay Corporation and Swiss Colony Company, all of Savanna. She held membership in the Sabula American Legion Auxillary, Tops, Sabula-Miles Veterans of Foreign Wars, Savanna Women of the Moose, Rebekah Lodge and Sabula Firettes.
Marilyn enjoyed Camping, Reading, Cooking, most of all she loved and enjoyed her family.
Marilyn will be dearly missed by her three sons, Michael (Faye) Roe of Bellevue, Iowa, Randy (Debra) Roe of Clinton, Iowa and Jeffrey Roe of Clinton, Iowa; one daughter, Patricia Anderson of Fulton, Illinois; seven grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Chuck (Kathleen) King of Soldier’s Grove, Wisconsin. Jim (Joann) King of Newton, Iowa, Bob (SunCha) King of Hamptom, Virginia; and one sister, Leola "Jean" (Larry) McPeak of Low Moor, Iowa.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; and one grandson.
