Marilyn Pierce loved the simple things in life. Like gardening, she found peace being close to nature and working with her hands. At the age of 70, Marilyn passed away at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois, on Thursday, February 1, 2024.
Marilyn was a loving Wife, Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma. She was born April 7, 1953 in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Clifford and Jean (Boop) Weible, and was a graduate of Hanover High School Class of 1971. Marilyn married Ronald Roe and they had two children, Melissa “Missy” and Jon. She later married Charles Pierce on May 18, 1996. They have celebrated twenty-seven years of marriage.
Marilyn worked several years at the Storybrook Country Club near Hanover. She enjoyed the friends she met there. During her later years, she enjoyed sipping on a Miller Lite while she worked on her numerous Jigsaw puzzles.
She will be dearly missed by her husband Charlie, her daughter, Melissa (Marc Phillips) Roe of Elizabeth, Illinois; her son, Jon Roe of Clinton, Iowa; two grandchildren, Jamie (Tyler) Macke, Maricopa, Arizona and Logan Phillips, Galena; two great-grandchildren, Harper and Atlas Macke; a sister, Pat (Gary) Woods of Fort Meyers, Florida; her mother-in-law, Marilyn Cane of South Elgin, Illinois; and two sisters-in-law, Linda (David) Goss of Scottsdale, Arizona and Bonnie (James) Kruse of Kingston, Illinois; and a brother-in-law, Larry Pierce of Hanover.
