Marilyn Jean Mccrudden

January 9, 1934 — October 29, 2020

Marilyn Jean McCrudden, 86, of Clinton, Iowa, formerly of Thomson, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Bickford Assisted Living, surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2020 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson. Burial will take place in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson. Memorials may be given in Marilyn's Honor to the Thomson United Methodist Church.

Marilyn was born January 9, 1934, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (O’Neil) Kall. She graduated with the Class of 1951 from East High School, Rockford. Marilyn married Stan McCrudden on February 21, 1952 at the Broadway Methodist Church in Rockford. Together they celebrated 61 years of marriage before his passing in 2013.

Marilyn worked at in the accounting department of Amerock in Rockford, and sold Avon for many years, earning the Presidents Club Award many times.

Marilyn’s involvement in her church was an important and meaningful part of her life. She enjoyed bowling in a league for many years, camping, gardening, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, cards, playing sudoku, reading, having coffee with friends at Dusty’s, and keeping up on the news, politics and sports. She especially loved the Chicago Cubs, Bears and following college basketball. A highlight of her life was the years she spent cheering on the Thomson Trojans sports (especially basketball) and supporting her husband, Coach McCrudden. Most of all, Marilyn enjoyed family holidays, and spending time with her children, grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Al) Dierckman, WI, and Sherry (Terry) Fife, Sr., IA; two sons, Stanley (Kris) McCrudden, IL and Sean McCrudden, IA; eight grandchildren, Mindy (Isaac Weigand) Wildman, WI, Heath (Teresa) Wildman, WI, Carie (Mike) Wills, IA, Terry Fife, Jr., IL, Liz (Jerrad Strehle) Fife, IA, Johnathan Fife, IA, Kia (Shawn Bluhm) McCrudden, WI, J.C. McCrudden, IL, and Sami Sipple, IL; four step grandchildren, Kari (John) Sokol, WA, Phillip (Liz Rexcoat) Cassaday, IA, Seth Bentley-Holst, IA, Kassandra (Cody Mceowen) Weltzin, IA; eight great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren, and her first great-great-grandchild on the way.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Stan, both parents, two brothers, Walter and Ralph Kall, and son-in-law, Mark Wildman.
