Marilyn A. Flor, age 80 of Sabula, Iowa, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Mill Valley Care Center, Bellevue, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula.
Marilyn was born on January 29, 1932, the daughter of Elmer and Francis (Smith) Shadle in Camanche, Iowa. She graduated from Clinton High School. Marilyn was united in marriage to Alfred L. Flor on December 26, 1953, in Clinton. Alfred died on January 12, 2010.
Marilyn was a homemaker who treasured taking care of her family. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed the time she spent with them. Marilyn was a past member of the Sabula V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Marilyn will be dearly missed by three children, Kathy Flor of Bellevue, Nancy (Jerry) Haiar of Camanche and Alan (Rae) Flor of Sabula; four grandsons, Kurt (Mary) Haiar, Jarrod (Amy) Haiar, Mark Flor and Alex Flor; one granddaughter, Jill (Brian) Zimmerman; six great grandchildren, Dakota, Emma, Logan, Andrew, Ben and Sydney; and one brother, Lester (Carol) Shadle of Camanche, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; three sisters and three brothers.
