Marilyn R. Daehler, age 74, of Chadwick, Illinois, died Tuesday, September 26, 2006, at FHN Memorial Hospital, Freeport, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 29 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick. Reverend Marcia Strahl will officiate. Burial will be in Chadwick Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. A memorial fund has been established. Marilyn was born on August 3, 1932, in Shannon, Illinois, the daughter of Noel and Vada (Eisenbise) Erdmier. Marilyn graduated from Mt. Carroll High School, with the class of 1950. Marilyn attended Aviation School at Omaha, Nebraska. On August 30, 1953 Marilyn married Leon “Smoo” Daehler, at Mt. Carroll United Methodist Church, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Marilyn most recently worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home as a CNA, in Mt. Carroll, she also worked at Green Giant Canning Company in Lanark, Illinois, and Savanna Army Depot, Savanna, Illinois.
Marilyn was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed gardening, bingo and crocheting. Marilyn was well known for her delicious Coffee Cakes. Most of all Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Marilyn will be dearly missed by one daughter Connie (Kevin) Dimmick of Mt. Carroll, Illinois; two sons, Jeffrey Daehler and William (Angie) Daehler, both of Chadwick; four grandchildren; Kierstin, Kyler, Kaileine, and Koltin Dimmick; one sister Nola (Tom) Charles, of Mt. Carroll; one brother William Erdmier of Big Bear Lake, CA, one step-brother Donald Miller of Morrison; four sister in-laws, Patricia Erdmier, of California, Eileen (William) Butler of Potomac, Maryland, Lois Daehler of Chadwick; and Joyce Daehler of Chadwick; one brother in-law, Arlowe (Hazel) Daehler of Chadwick; many nieces and nephews; and one special grand-dog.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; step father Louis Miller; her husband, Leon; one brother Allen Erdmier; two sisters, Janet Erdmier and Phyllis Krafft; and two brother in-laws Ellwood Daehler and Donavan Daehler.
