Marie Teeter

October 22, 1921 — October 31, 2015

Marie L. (Kolb) Teeter, age 94 of Mt. Carroll died Saturday evening October 31st, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society, in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Mt. Carroll. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover. A visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Carroll County Good Samaritan Society or the Mt. Carroll Historical Society in Marie’s memory.
Marie was born on October 22, 1921, the daughter of Frank and Florence (Trautsch) Bunders in Wauzeka, Wisconsin. She married Max J. Kolb on July 2nd, 1941 in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Marie and Max lived in Fennimore, Wisconsin until moving to Hanover, Illinois in 1952. Max passed away in 1969, leaving Marie widowed with four children. On October 20th, 1972 Marie married Lowell C. Teeter of Mt. Carroll. They spent many happy years in Mt Carroll until his passing on January 9th, 1995.
Marie was employed in various places in the area including Atwoods Manufacturing in Stockton, Illinois and most recently the Owen Miles Historical Museum in Mt. Carroll. Marie was very active all her life and was always very social. Marie was an avid golfer at Oakville Country Club and she enjoyed going to Timber Lake Playhouse. She especially enjoyed spending time with her many friends and family. Marie was involved in several clubs and organizations including the United Methodist Church of Mt. Carroll, Daughters of the American Revolution, Ladies Auxiliary VFW and the PEO Sisterhood.
Marie has spent the last two years at Good Samaritan Society in Mt. Carroll. She was very fortunate to have many devoted friends and family who visited her often and kept her company. The staff at Good Samaritan has also been very kind and compassionate. The family wishes to thank friends, family and the very compassionate staff at Good Samaritan for their devoted care.Marie will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Marie was preceded in death by her husbands, Max and Lowell; two sons, Lee Kolb and Max Kolb, Jr.; two daughters, Jill (Kolb) Young and Jerri (Kolb) Haggerty; one sister, Leone Dirnbauer; and one brother, Lyle Bunders.
