Marie Hite, age 55, of Dixon, Illinois, formerly of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 in Amberwood Care Center in Rockford, Illinois. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 4, 2007, at the First Presbyterian Church in Savanna with Reverend Michael Wey officiating. Inurnment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be given to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc. 2600 Network Blvd. Suite 300 Frisco, Texas 75034 or the Ministries of the First Presbyterian Church in Savanna.
Marie was born on May 22, 1952 in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and June (Stauter) Hite. She attended Savanna High School, graduating with the Class of 1970.
Marie worked as an Operator for Centel Telephone Company for eighteen years, retiring in 1989. Marie was a kind and gentle person; she always had a smile, and offered a helpful hand. She very much enjoyed family get-togethers, especially traveling to Japan to visit her brother, George. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Savanna.
Marie will be dearly missed by her brother, George and his wife Nozomi of Tokyo, Japan; the Hartley family, Colleen, Mike, Dan, Kay and Rick, close friend, Dan Hartley of Savanna and her dear friend, Kathy Fulrath.
Marie was preceded in death by her mother June in 1985 and father, Raymond in 1956.
