Marian D. Ashby

Marian D. Ashby, age 83, of Fresno, California, formerly of Thomson, Illinois, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008, at the St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno. A funeral service will be held at 10:30am on Monday, April 7th, at the Thomson United Methodist Church, Rev. Paul Judd will officiate. Burial will follow at Lower York Cemetery in Thomson. Visitation will be held from 1 – 3pm Sunday, April 6th, at the Law – Jones Funeral Home in Thomson. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army and the Disabled Veterans. Marian was born July 31, 1924, in Andover, Iowa, the daughter of William and Mary (Gelson) Kuehl. Marian was married to Wayne L. Ashby on June 5th, 1949. She enjoyed time with her grandchilren and with her family and friends. Marian was an exceptionally warm and loving person, caring for everyone, listening to and supporting everyone who needed help. She was an active member of her Church, Third Day Fellowship.Marian is survived by her son Bill (Tika) Ashby of Glendale, California; her granddaughter Erin Ashby and her grandson Matt Ashby of Glendale; and her neices, nephews, and great neices and nephews whom she loved very much.Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Helen Smith and her husband, Wayne.
