Margret Houver, age 96, of Savanna, Illinois, previously of Cedar Rapids, Iowa died Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Cremation will be accorded and burial of ashes will take place in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Mt. Vernon, Iowa at a later date.
Margret was born June 21, 1913 in Springville, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Nellie (Caraway) Houver. She worked as a Beautician in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, retiring in 2000.
She is survived by a sister, Rachel Springer of Mechanicsville, Iowa and four nephews, Kevin Hersey, Joel Hersey, Gary Andre and Kenneth Andre. Margret is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys Hersey and Elizabeth Kuntz; and a brother, John Houver.
