Margaret E. Lawson

Margaret E. “Peggy” Lawson, age 81, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, Iowa. A visitation will be held 2:00-5:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2011, prior to the service at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home in Mt. Carroll. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. A memorial fund has been established in Peggy’s memory.
Peggy was born on December 29, 1929 the daughter of Robert and Mary (McKenzie) Bert in Monroe, Michigan. Peggy attended St. Mary’s Academy in Monroe, Michigan graduating with the Class of 1947. After graduation, Peggy was a Dental Technician in Romeo, Michigan. She married James C. Lawson on September 10, 1953 in the St. Michael Catholic Church in Monroe.
Jim and Peggy moved to Mt. Carroll in January of 1959. Peggy first worked as a Dental Technician for Dr. Becum and later for Atwoods Manufacturing, Mt. Carroll for twenty-three years before retiring. During her retirement Peggy enjoyed working as a product sampler for various retailers. She was a member of S.S. John and Catherine, Mount Carroll. Peggy enjoyed local daytrips and traveling to Colorado to spend time with her family. She also enjoyed the outdoors, collecting glass and spending time with her family.
Peggy will be dearly missed by her husband, Jim of Mount Carroll; two daughters, Sally (Patrick) Eberhardt of Geneseo, Illinois and Janet Sevey of Colorado Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren, Mallory (Kyle) Buck of Colorado Springs and James (Krystal) Sevey of Oak Harbor, Washington, Nick Eberhardt of Denver, Colorado and Rob Eberhardt of Geneseo; two great grandchildren, Haley Sevey and Dylan Buck; and one brother, Robert Bert. She was preceded in death by her parents.
