Margaret "Peggy" G. Marks

Margaret “Peggy” G. Marks, 90, Mt. Carroll, IL, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held Friday August 26, 2011 from 9:00AM –11:00AM at SS. John and Catherine Catholic Church, 310 South Main Street Mount Carroll, IL 61053, with Mass immediately follow. Burial is in Oakville Cemetery, Mt. Carroll.
Peggy was born March 10, 1921, the daughter of Edward C. and Emily (Redpath) Bridge in Montreal, Quebec Canada. Peggy married John E. Marks on November 13, 1948 in Montreal, Quebec. John passed away January 28, 1993. She worked for several companies including Canada Air, Huerbingers Drug Store, Farnsworth & Assoc., Dr. Purlee DDS, and Swiss Colony.
Peggy was a member of the SS. John and Catherine Catholic Church, a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and a twenty-one year board member for Timber Lake Playhouse in Mt. Carroll. She enjoyed bridge, golf and bowling. Most of all Peggy cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Peggy will be dearly missed by one daughter: Deborah (Paul) Bougher of Mt. Carroll; three sons: John Marks of Destin, FL, Robert Marks of Chicago, IL, Patrick Marks of Los Angeles, CA; three grandchildren: Taylor (John) Anderson, Trevor Marks and Anthony Marks; two sisters: Marie Sleightholm and Patricia Riddle of Ontario, Canada. Peggy is preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Edward Bridge; two sisters, Dorothy Murphy and Doris Bridge.
