Margaret J. Falls

Margaret J. Falls, age 84, of Thomson, Illinois died Monday, February 22, 2016 at The Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 26, 2016 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Burial will take place in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. A memorial fund has been established in Margaret’s memory.
Margaret was born July 9, 1931, the daughter of John and Gertrude (DeVries) Noordhoff in Thomson. She attended Thomson Schools and graduated with the Class of 1949. On September 23, 1950, Margaret married Richard Falls in Savanna, Illinois. They celebrated 52 years of marriage until Richard’s death in 2003.
Margaret was a homemaker and treasured taking care of her family. She was a member of York Community Church. She enjoyed reading and playing cards, especially Euchre.
Margaret will be dearly missed by her two children, Jim (Shelly) Falls and Deborah Falls, both of Thomson; three grandchildren, Randi (Elizabeth) Falls of Thomson, Illinois, Ann (Bryan) Petrasko of Madison, Wisconsin, and Rachel Falls of Clinton, Iowa; and one great-granddaughter, Lauren Falls of Thomson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents, John and Gertrude; two brothers, and a sister.
