Marcia M. Griffith

Marcia M. Griffith, age 88, of Thomson, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center-North, Clinton, Iowa. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson, Illinois. Inurnment will take place in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Memorials may be made to the Mercy Renal Dialysis Unit and the Mercy Senior Assisted Living, Clinton, Iowa in Marcia’s honor.
Marcia was born July 18, 1923, the daughter of Carl and Sarah (Bohm) Robinson in Pleasant Valley, Illinois. She graduated from Thomson High School, Class of 1942. On July 28, 1952, Marcia married George Griffith in Tulsa, Oklahoma. George passed away, July 14, 1989 in Hulbert, Oklahoma.
Marcia worked many years for a state owned summer resort in Oklahoma. She very much enjoyed working at the resort and spent her spare time sewing.
Marcia will be dearly missed by her son, Theodore (Kathie) Printy of San Diego, California; one brother, Dean "Speed" Robinson of Thomson; one sister, Pearle Fish of Clinton, Iowa; four grandchildren, Sherilyn (Mike) Middleton, Wendilyn Barton, Tamilyn Daniels and Ted (Laura) Printy; seven great grandchildren; a sister in-law, Rose Robinson of Franklin, Tennessee and many dear nieces and nephews.
Marcia is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; one brother, Richard Robinson; two sisters, Marjorie Eubanks and Francis Lego; and one step-son, Darrell Griffith.
