María was born on June 20, 1980, the daughter of Marcos Vinicio Pacas Barrera and Coralia Haydée Miranda de Pacas in San Vicente, El Salvador.
María was the first in her family to receive a four-year University Degree, an accomplishment of which her family was extremely proud. She pursued her Special Education career because of her beloved niece who was born with Down’s Syndrome. She loved listening to music, teaching Sunday school, travelling, and spending time with her family and friends. She was well-known for her affinity to sweets, especially gummy bears, chocolates, and homemade desserts.
María’s beautiful smile, laughter and charm will be deeply missed by her parents; two brothers, Marco (Annette) Pacas of Mt. Carroll, Illinois and Luis (Bety) Pacas of San Salvador; and her sister, Leda Pacas of Savanna, Illinois; along with her many nieces and nephews.
