Lynn R. Queckboerner

Lynn R. Queckboerner, age 71, of Milledgeville, IL, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Allure Nursing Home, in Mt. Carroll, IL. A private graveside service will be held at Oak Knoll Cemetery, in Sterling, IL. A public celebration of life will be held at Millwheel Tavern, in Milledgeville, on Friday, August 13, 2021, starting at 4pm and going into the evening. Lynn was born February 1, 1950 in Sterling, IL, the son of Ray and Hildred (Gravenstein) Queckboerner. He graduated from Chadwick High School. On August 18, 1974, Lynn married Bonnie Gilbert. Together they went on to have four children. Lynn began his adult life farming on his family farm for nearly two decades, before transitioning into the hauling business. He began hauling livestock and grain for his Uncle, Russ Queckboerner. Then for a short time he dabbled in long haul trucking, before returning to his uncle’s trucking business, and handling the grain hauling side, after his uncle’s death. In the final years of his trucking career, Lynn drove for ADM.

Lynn grew up a farmer and never strayed far from those farming roots. He always had a love of International Harvestor Tractors, and cherished “Plow Days,” where his local farmer buddies would gather together to plow and prep a field. The annual rocky mountain oyster nut fry was also a favorite of his! Lynn will be remembered as a hard worker who dearly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Lynn is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Lisa (Andy) Hinrichs, of Oregon, IL, Arden (Toby) Queckboerner, of Polo, IL, Dan Queckboerner, Milledgeville, IL, and Jena (Jason) Queckboerner, of Sterling, IL; five grandchildren, AJ Hinrichs, Caleb Aguiler, Tristan Aguiler, Wyatt Queckboerner, Mazy Queckboerner; and a brother, Dale (Denise) Queckboerner, of Chadwick, IL. Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Hildred.
