Lucy Chico, age 68, of Savanna, Illinois, died Friday, November 18, 2005, at her home in Savanna. Funeral Services will be held 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. Father Moises Apostle and Pastor Wayne R. Carvell will be officiating. Friends may call from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at the Funeral Home.
Lucy was born on July 10, 1937, the daughter of Felix and Maria (Silva) Guereca in Fort Wayne, Indiana. On January 6, 1968, Lucy married Noel Chico in Chicago, Illinois.
Lucy loved and enjoyed her family. Each day with her children and grandchildren brought joy to her life. Lucy enjoyed cooking and being a homemaker. She had a smile for everyone and never met a stranger she didn’t like. Lucy truly cared for everyone, and lived her life with kindness and generosity for all.
Lucy will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Noel, her two sons, Steve Chico and Daniel (Sharon) Chico, both of Savanna; her daughter, Juanita Chico (Dean) Fink of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Danielle, Maya, Brenda; and one great grandchild, Cameron all of Savanna; five sisters, Mary Navaro of Chicago, Illinois; Julia Sauseda of Chicago; Anne Gurrera of Houston, Texas; Jesse Gonzalez of Chicago; and Sara Peña of Houston; one brother, Mike Guereca of Chicago.
Lucy was preceded in death by her Parents; two brothers, Manuel and David Guereca; three sisters, Connie Torres, Helen Galvin and Francis Morales; and one brother in-law, Abisai Chico.
