Louis James Ferraro, Jr., aged 78, of Thomson, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021.
He was a Chicago policeman for over 30 years until his retirement, at which time he moved to Thomson, Illinois. He had at one time been a corporal as an M.P. in the U.S. Army and a trainer in the Canine Corps. Louis loved hunting, reading, cooking, and spending time with his many friends and family.
He is survived by Bunny Solis, his partner in life, 3 sons: Anthony (Sue) Vestal, Bradley (Margie) Vestal, Christopher (Judith) Ferraro and 3 daughters: Anne (George) Simons, Sari Ann Engle, and Sharon Soto. Louis was the grandfather of 13: Philip (Erin) Vestal, Elizabeth, Grace, and Mary Vestal, Nicole (Angel) Calderon, Cheryl (Daniel) Perez, Patricia Ferraro, John (Laura) Ferraro, Christopher (Tanya) Murphy, Michelle (Andrew) Jones, Emily, Cecilia, and James Soto. 8 Great Grandchildren include, Timothy and Elliot Vestal, Ashley Holt, Christopher (Martha} Holt, Amanda Downar, Emily Calderon, Joseph and Matthew Perez, Jonathan and Skye Ferraro, and Madison Murphy and 1 Great Great-Grandchild, Aiden Holt. Louis had 2 sisters, Judith (Larry) Annis and Sari (Michael) Gabel.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis James Ferraro, Sr. and his mother, Lorene J. Ferraro and great grand-daughter, Hailey Muro-Calderon.
Louis was loved by everyone who knew him. This man always had a smile, never a complaint, always had a funny story to tell. We will keep him in our hearts forever and know he is in a place of peace, where there is no more pain, a place where we all hope one day to be together again.
