Lorraine M. Weidman, age 79, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, died Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Morrison, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. Reverend Mark Harkness of the Mount Carroll United Methodist Church, Mount Carroll will officiate. Burial will take place in Oakhill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association and the United Methodist Church in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Lorraine was born on December 27, 1930, the daughter of Lester R. and Gladys (Gifford) Buelow in Clinton, Iowa. She attended Clinton High School graduating with the Class of 1949. Lorraine married Arnold Hoogheem in 1951. Lorraine married Donald C. Weidman on March 14, 1970 in Morrison. Lorraine worked at the Clinton Garment Company and as a nursing aid for Harbor Crest Nursing Home, Fulton, Illinois. She was a member of Wa-Tan-Ya and was also a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader in Maple Park, IL. Lorraine enjoyed ceramics and cooking. Most of all, Lorraine loved spending time with her family and friends.Lorraine will be dearly missed by her husband, Donald of Mount Carroll; three sons, Craig (Cindy) Hoogheem of Morrison, Steve (Terri) Hoogheem of Clinton, Iowa and Bart Hoogheem of Prophetstown; one step-son, Doug Weidman of Mount Carroll; four step-daughters, Julie (Bob) Zuidema of Morrison, Donna (Paul) Parker of Fulton, Lorrie (Tom) Hartman of Fulton and Barb (Kevin) Reibel of Savanna; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Phyllis Herch of Clinton.Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, James Miller; one brother, Billie Buelow and one sister, Betty Grumstrup.
