Lorraine Esther Ronan

Lorraine Esther Ronan, age 91, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Pinnacle Place in Savanna, Illinois.

Lorraine was born on March 23, 1935, in Laurel, Montana, the daughter of John Fox Jr. and Elizabeth (Knaub) Fox. Her childhood in Montana was defined by the hard work and simple joys of farm life. In her early years, she attended a one-room schoolhouse where she was able to ride her pony to school. She graduated from Laurel High School in 1954.

Lorraine married Theodore Ronan in 1955. They raised two daughters.

Lorraine had a great sense of humor. She was known for always having a "corny" joke ready to share. She was a woman of faith who was active in various church communities throughout her life.

Her heart for service was evident in her volunteer work. Lorraine was a proud participant in the Foster Grandparent program in Billings, Montana, and spent several years volunteering at St. Vincent Hospital.

She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Colleen (Alan) Schroeder of Savanna, Illinois, and Cindy Ronan of Chadwick, Illinois; two grandsons, Andy Anderson and Brayden Lowek; and two great-grandchildren, Reece and Hattie. She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, one brother and two great granddaughters.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Pinnacle Place for their wonderful care over the years and to Mercy Hospice for their kindness and support in her final days.
