Lorraine was born February 16, 1930 in Clinton, IA, the daughter of Walter and Florence (Schnack) Lammers. She graduated from DeWitt High School with the class of 1948, then attended Mercy Nursing School in Cedar Rapids for 2 years. On April 8th, 1951, Lorraine married Harold Mohr, at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt, IA. He passed away in 1974,

Over the course of her life, Lorraine worked various jobs including secretary at St. John’s Lutheran Church, secretary for the Preston School Board, Gehrlach Gas, and for 12 years as a Postal Clerk at the Preston Post Office, retiring in 1992. After retirement, she moved to Colorado, living in Greeley and then Estes Park, where she enjoyed working part time at the YMCA of the Rockies. In 1999, she moved back to Cedar Rapids, IA.

Lorraine was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Church in Preston for 40 years, a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Auxiliary, and a proud mother and grandmother. When she lost her husband at too young an age, she took on the role of a true matriarch. In doing so, her love for her family only grew stronger as the years progressed. She greatly valued time spent with those she loved, such as traveling, seeing her grandchildren, and playing cards and games, especially with her sisters and grandchildren. In her free time, she also enjoyed reading and doing puzzles.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Sandra (John) Fordice, of Swisher, IA; sons Steven Mohr, of Omaha, NE and Stuart (Stacy) Mohr, of Bryant, IA; son-in-law Steve (Mary Kae Hintz) Bierman, of DeWitt, IA; seven grandchildren, Dave (Lori Till) Bierman, Duane (Trelana Daniel) Bierman, Joshua (Julia) Mohr, Becky (Scott) Schroeder, Travis (Amanda) Mohr, Brad Fordice, and Sara Fordice; 11 great-grandchildren, Wyatt Bierman, Libby Bierman, Abigail Bierman, Harrison Mohr, Randall Mohr, Chloe Mohr, Lucy Schroeder, Miles Schroeder, Carter Mohr, Liam Mohr, and Kamden Mohr; sisters, Florana Fitz, Lucille Lundquist, and Charlene Ryan; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Florence; husband, Harold; daughter, Sharon Bierman; son, Stanley Mohr; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
