Loren K. Heidenreich, age 66, of Elizabeth, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 15th, at MercyOne hospital in Dubuque. A celebration of Loren’s life will be held Saturday, September 25th, from noon to 4 p.m. at Woodbine Bend in Woodbine, IL.
Loren was born January 19th, 1955, son of Ray Lee and Beth (Winter) Heidenreich. He grew up working on his family farm in Woodbine, IL. Loren attended first grade at the Woodbine School and then attended the Stockton School where he met the love of his life, Tracy Schiess. After they both graduated Loren and Tracy married in 1974. Together they raised two sons and celebrated 47 years of marriage.
Loren had a thorough work ethic for his entire life. For most of his life he worked as a Plumber, and started Heidenreich Plumbing in 1984. Loren then went into business at the Plumbing Shop in Elizabeth for 14 years. After that, he resumed Heidenreich Plumbing for another 20 years. Most of Loren’s customers would become good friends. They could always count on Loren to fix their plumbing issues regardless of weekends or holidays. Loren retired officially in 2018, but unofficially he still shared his expertise with friends who needed some advice.
At the center of Loren’s life was his family. He loved being a father, and especially loved being Brynn’s Papa. She brought out the best of him and he loved to spoil her.
Loren will be dearly missed by his wife, Tracy Heidenreich of Elizabeth; two sons, Nathan Heidenrich of Elizabeth, and Aaron (Sara) Heidenreich of Heath, OH; one granddaughter, Brynn, and one grandson on the way; one sister, Julie (Dennis) Nampal of Winnebago, IL, and one sister-in-law, Sherry Heidenreich of Davis IL. Loren is preceded in death by his parents, Ray Lee and Beth; and two brothers, Roger and Jerry.
