Lorelei was born in Elmhurst, IL the daughter of Ewald & Dorothy (Brandt) Harnish. She married Raymond Wajda (deceased) and had two sons, Gregory (Ellen) Wajda (deceased) who had two children Angela (Jeffery) Williams and Jacob (Melissa) Wajda and son, Andrew (Dawn) Wajda. In May 1985, she married Daniel S. Mitchell (deceased) and moved to the Galena Territory in November 1988. She and Dan became members of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in choir, Altar Guild, treasurer of Lady's Guild, and numerous other church activities. She loved gardening and was on four garden walks in the Galena Territory. She was also active in various committees in the Galena Territory, being a judge for the two yearly bass fishing contests was her favorite. In addition, she was an avid animal lover volunteering at Safe Haven Shelter and the proud owner of her precious cat, Rivet, who was her loyal companion.
She is survived and will be missed by son, Andrew Wajda; brother, Randy (Clarette) Harnish; grandchildren, Jacob (Melissa) Wajda and Angela (Jeffery) Williams; great granddaughters Kalia Williams, Leah and Brynn Wajda; step grandchildren, Kyle and Ashley Dimberg, and also many nieces and nephews and friends all of whom will forever hold dear the love and memories she gifted us. Though our hearts are heavy, we take solace in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with those who have gone before her for eternity.
