While growing up she attended the Black Country School, Hanover School and the Lost Mound Country School. Lois married Floyd C. Miller on May 25, 1946 in Hanover. Floyd passed away on November 12, 1977.
Lois worked at the Savanna Army Depot during World War II and later at Mitchell’s Ben Franklin Store in Hanover from 1959 - 1977. Her greatest joy in life was raising her two sons and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lois was very active in her community where she was a charter member of the Hanover Days Committee, the Hanover Women’s Club, and a member of the Hanover VFW Ladies Auxiliary for over 60 years.
Throughout her life she enjoyed making clothes, knitting and making afghans. She enjoyed traveling, visiting 48 states and Europe, and also liked to play Bingo and going to gambling casinos. She suffered a stroke in 1983, followed by other illnesses, including cancer. Even with struggles in life, Lois always maintained an upbeat personality, sharing her happiness and smile with everyone.
