Lois Krug

Lois Ruth Krug, age 88 of Elizabeth, Illinois died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Elizabeth Nursing Home, Elizabeth. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabeth. Burial will take place in Derinda Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Elizabeth. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Elizabeth. Memorials may be made in Lois’ memory to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Lois was born on February 14, 1927, the daughter of Harry and Leta (Toepfer) Wurster in Carroll County. She attended Derinda Center School. She married Morris Krug on February 18, 1947 at Derinda Lutheran Church.
Lois worked as a waitress and retail clerk at Marilyn’s Grocery and Bishop’s General Store, both in Elizabeth. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lois enjoyed playing euchre, quilting, cooking, and gardening. She especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren.
Lois will be dearly missed by her husband of 68 years, Morris; one son, Kermit (Susan) Krug of Byron, Illinois; a daughter, Mary (Dwight) Westphal of Pecatonica, Illinois; three grandchildren, Kelly (Anthony) La Rosa, Ryan Westphal, and Sarah Krug; one great-granddaughter, Eva LaRosa, and one brother, Dennis (Marilyn) Wurster of Elizabeth. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Leta.
