Lois J. Grove

Lois Jean Grove, of Savanna, died on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, IA. Lois was born on May 20, 1934, the daughter of Ralph and Nellie Pritchard. She was raised in Nelson, IL, and attended Rock Falls High School, class of 1952. In 1955 she married Frank Grove at the Rock Falls Methodist Church, and they shared their life together for over 65 years. Together they had 5 children, and Frank's military career had them moving around the country until they settled in Chula Vista, California, where he and Lois lived until 1996. That year they returned to Illinois, living in Sterling for a couple years before finally settling in Savanna, where Lois finally got the Old Brick House she always wanted.

Lois was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Savanna, her weekly prayer group meeting being a highlight of her week. For as long as she was able she also loved attending local auctions trying to find the perfect pieces to decorate her home.

Survivors include children Lori Covella of Sterling, IL, Kelly Grove of Plymouth, IN, Frank K. Grove of Walkerton, IN, Patti Grove of Mount Juliet, TN, and Shannon Grove of Savanna, IL and two sisters, Rose Marie Brown and Wanda June (Gary) Setters. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lois was preceeded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frank, who passed away in October of 2020, her parents, and her brother Leo.

At Lois' request, cremation rights have been accorded and there will be no funeral or memorial service.
