Linda Lou (Skinhorn) Johnson, age 66, of Miles, Iowa, died Friday, February 19, 2010, at the Genesis Hospital East Campus, Davenport, Iowa. Private family services will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010. A public luncheon will be held in Linda’s Honor at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 22, at the Miles American Legion Hall. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
Linda was born February 11, 1944, in Savanna, Illinois, to Issac and Ethel (Parks) Skinhorn. She was united in marriage to James Johnson on October 7, 1969, in Bellevue, Iowa.
Linda was a homemaker who loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed making baskets, shopping, playing cards, and taking family vacations. Linda loved her family and will be greatly missed by them.
Linda is survived by her husband, James Johnson of Miles, Iowa; two sons, Lance (Jennifer) Abernathy of Sabula, Iowa, and Adam (Julie) Johnson of Miles; two daughters, Amber Johnson of Miles, and Jalyn Johnson of Davenport, Iowa; six grandchildren; one sister, Shirley (Robert) Luedtke of Overland Park, Kansas; two brothers, Michael (Jane) Skinhorn of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Gerald (Darlene) Skinhorn Sr. of Savanna; one uncle, Larry Green of Thomson, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; and one husband, Larry Abernathy.
