Linda Fritz, age 53, of Lanark, Illinois passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab Center, Mt. Carroll. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church, Mt. Carroll, with Father Dennis Atto as Celebrant. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mt. Carroll. Memorials may be given in Linda’s memory for the FHN Leonard C.Ferguson Cancer Center, Freeport, and the Good Samaritan Nursing and Rehab Center, Mt. Carroll.
Linda was born November 29, 1958 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Ronald R. and Margaret (Farrell) Ritchie. She grew up on a farm, enjoyed 4-H and in 1976 graduated from Boscobel High School, Boscobel, Wisconsin. Following High School, Linda worked at Bohlman’s Drug Store in Boscobel for 23 years. On March 13, 1999 Linda married Stanley Fritz in Boscobel. Linda moved to Mt. Carroll, Illinois with Stan, and their family grew when they traveled to Bulgaria in 2002 to bring home their son, Austin. Linda fell in love with Austin the minute she saw him.
Linda was a member of SS. John & Catherine Catholic Church of Mt. Carroll, and earlier Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Boscobel. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, creating stained-glass artwork, bowling, and family get-togethers.
Linda is survived by her husband, Stanley and son, Austin of Lanark; her parents, Ronald and Margaret Ritchie of Boscobel; four sisters, Kathy (Robert) Everson of Fennimore, WI, Jeanne (Chris) Wolff of Wauzeka, WI, Bonnie (Todd) Stenner of Boscobel and Barbara (Rick) Ritter of Boscobel; three brothers, Ron (Christy) Ritchie of Boscobel, Mike (Jeannie) Ritchie of Sun Prairie, WI and Jerry (Kathy) Ritchie of Chilton, WI; father in-law and mother in-law, Ronald and Helen Fritz of Mt. Carroll; sister in-law, Roxann (Gerald) Specht of Evanston, IL; brother in-law, Rodney (Cheri) Fritz of Lake Carroll, IL; 21 nieces and nephews; and 8 great nieces and nephews. Linda is preceded in death by her grandparents.
