Lincoln Eugene Eads, age 41 of Mt. Carroll, Illinois passed on to glory on September 6, 2016 as the result of injuries sustained on April 27, 2016, in a car accident on Route 73, near Lanark, Illinois. A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Mt. Carroll Church of God, with Pastor Eddie Hammond officiating. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Boiling Springs Cemetery in Decatur, Illinois. Visitation will take place from 3:00 – 6:00pm, Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Mt Carroll Church of God. A memorial fund has been established in Lincoln’s memory.
Lincoln was born April 26, 1975 in Freeport, Illinois, the son of Ralph and Linda (Millard) Eads. He attended Mt. Carroll High School and graduated with the Class of 1993. While in high school, Lincoln played the saxophone in the school band, wrestled, and played the lead as Mr. Webb in the performance of “Our Town”. After graduation, Lincoln joined the United States Navy and honorably served as a Gunner’s Mate on board the U.S.S. John Hancock. He served his country for 7 1/2 years. Lincoln had a restless spirit and traveled and worked in many places throughout the country as a truck driver including South Dakota and Wyoming oil fields, and for the past year he was working for Eastland Feed and Grain in Shannon, Illinois.
Lincoln will be dearly missed by his parents, Ralph (Linda) Eads; sister, Shawna (Luke) Houzenga; two nephews, Paul and Evan Houzenga, all of Mt. Carroll. Lincoln was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and an aunt, Shirley Eads.
