Lewie Carr, age 61, of Savanna, Illinois, died on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. A memorial visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Lewie was born on September 12, 1948, the son of William and Rose (Ingels) Carr in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. After High School Lewie enlisted into the United States Navy, he served during the Vietnam War. Lewie married Rebecca McCandless on January 20, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked as a Division Manager for Earl Scheib and also as a Machinist Union Rep. Lewie was a lifetime member of the VFW in Savanna.
Lewie will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Rebecca; seven brothers; two sisters; two sons, Chris and Billy; daughter in-law, Tonya; all of Savanna; one grandson, Andrew. Lewie is preceded in death by his parents; one brother and best little buddy “Gismo”.
