Lee E. Kehoe, age 78, of Savanna, IL, passed away on October 1, 2020 at Allure Nursing Home, in Mt. Carroll, IL. A private funeral service will be held at Law Jones Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Spring Lake Cemetery, in Savanna. Lee was born June 14, 1942, in Savanna, IL, the son of Carroll Vincent and Mildred Arlene (Dickman) Kehoe. Lee attended Savanna schools, graduating from Savanna High School with the class of 1960. Lee went on to serve his country in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. On July 16, 1969, Lee married Jane Carroll at St. Peter Lutheran Church, in Savanna. They celebrated 51 years of marriage. Lee made a career of the railroad industry, working for the Milwaukee Railroad for 5 years, then Burlington Northern, and ultimately BNSF for 35 years, retiring in 2002.

Lee was an avid sports fan. He loved to cheer on his Chicago teams, especially the Bears. In his younger, more spry years, Lee not only watched, but also participated whenever he could. He enjoyed slow pitch softball, basketball, bowling, and could often be seen jogging and exercising. When he took time to relax, he liked to read or play cards. Most of all, Lee loved his dear wife, Jane, and his family.

Lee will be dearly missed by his wife, Jane; son, Michael Kehoe, of Dakota, IL; four step-children; two grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two half-sisters, Gale Hall, of South Carolina and Jackie Smith, of Savanna, IL; four half-brothers, Chris (Cheryl) Long, of Savanna, IL, Dean Long, of Tucson, AZ, Mark Long, of Tucson, AZ, and Dale Long, of Baltimore, MD. Lee is preceded in death by his sister, Carroll Stricklin, and half -brothers, Cliff Long and Ted Long.
