Larry S. Giles

Larry S. Giles, age 67, of Savanna, IL passed at home surrounded by family on Sunday June 4, 2023. He was born on December 21, 1955 in Knoxville, TN. Larry was a devoted husband, father, papa, and son. His passion was caring for his mom, children, and grandchildren and he worked for the laborer’s union for over 30 years to do so. He spent his retirement enjoying time with his wife, family, friends, and his best friend/dog Bugsy. Larry enjoyed his free time fishing, watching NASCAR, cheering on the Chicago Bears, playing guitar, reading, painting, and gardening. He was artistic, adventurous, and appreciated the little things in life. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. He was a special person and will be deeply missed.

Larry is preceded in death by his mother and father, Charles and Betty Giles, his brother, Charles Giles II and his sister, Becky Giles.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gail Giles; his brother, William Giles; and by his children, Beverly Giles, Catina (Edward) Kendrick, Ivan Giles; grandchildren, Alora Giles, Sarah (Chuck) Hardy, Brianna Crouse, Joseph (Heather) Kendrick, Joshua Kendrick, Brittany Kendrick, Gabrielle Giles, Michael Giles, and Anthony Giles; great-grandchildren, Lucian Giles, Vaughn Dean, Rowan Dean, Amelia Hardy, Teddi Hardy, and Violet Rehberg.

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life of a loving husband, father, and friend, from 2-4 pm, Saturday, June 10, 2023 with a time of sharing at 4pm at Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois.
