Larry L. Franks, age 64, of Birchwood, WI died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at the Golden Age Manor in Amery, WI. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 16, 2006 at the New Hope Assembly of God Church in Savanna, IL, Rev. Gary Abney officiating, with interment in the Daggert Cemetery in Mt. Carroll, IL. Friends may call from 4 - 7 PM Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI and from 4 - 7 PM Sunday, October 15, 2006 at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, IL.
Larry was born on March 5, 1942 in Geneseo, IL to Darrell and Ardith (Doll) Franks. Larry graduated from the Erie High School in Erie, IL in 1960. He was a police officer in Erie, IL, managed a Country Club in Erie, was the road commissioner in Erie and was also a salesman for Heckman Bindary. Larry was married to Deborah Dauphin on May 13, 1977 in Erie, IL. They moved to the Barron County area in 1978 where Larry worked for Williams Auction Service in Rice Lake, WI. He was on the Cedar Lake Town Board as a Supervisor and Chairman. Larry was also treasurer for the Rice Lake Music Parents for 11 years.
Larry Franks is survived by his wife, Deborah Franks of Birchwood, WI; 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Joette & Scott Friess of Cumberland, WI, Trina Franks of Hudson, WI and Traci Schatz of Moline, IL; 3 grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Lillian; 2 brothers, David Franks of Erie, IL and Bruce Franks of Prophetstown, IL; 5 sisters, Darrelyn Mortenson and Karen Jepson both of Erie, IL, Debra Geerts of Fulton, IL, Lori Dornbush of Erie, IL and Candice Milem of Cordova, IL; and a special cousin, Roxie Watkins of Erie, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.
