Larry Keith Broshous, age 70, of Stockton, Illinois died at home after an illness on January 23, 2026.
Larry was a simple, steady man whose greatest pride was his family. Born in Freeport on May 23, 1955, he graduated from Stockton High School in 1973 and spent thirty‑five years working at Kelly Springfield in Freeport, where he was known for his dependable work ethic and quiet competence.
Larry married Kathleen Branthaver on June 11, 1977 in Stockton. They were married 48 years and raised two children, Adam and Sarah. Larry treasured the everyday moments — family meals, camping trips and the small traditions that made a house a home.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Buford Broshous in 1963 and Mae (Eldon) Magee, and by his grandchildren, Oliver and Isabella.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his children, Adam (Sherry) Broshous of Darien, Illinois and Sarah Sneek of Stockton; his grandchildren, Owen, Maxwell, Wesley, Charlotte and William; and his siblings, Eugene (Janet) Broshous of Stockton, Norman Broshous of Green Valley, Arizona, Monty (Kathy) Broshous of Freeport and Julie (Thomas) Kiefer of Renton, Washington.
A graveside service will be held 11 am Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Morseville Cemetery, Stockton, followed immediately with a Celebration of Life at Buckhorn Pub & Restaurant, 320 E North Avenue, Stockton.
