Larry Dale Bibler

January 9, 1944 — July 27, 2025

Larry Dale Bibler, age 81, of Chadwick, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Larry was born on January 9, 1944, in Ohio, the son of Harold and Dolorese (Fellar) Bibler. From a young age, Larry showed a strong independent spirit and a determined work ethic. He left school early to begin a lifelong career on the road, becoming a truck driver who would spend the next 47 years hauling steel across the country on flatbed rigs. He took great pride in his work and saw the open road as both a responsibility and a calling.

While making a steel delivery to Northwest Steel in Sterling, Illinois, fate stepped in—Larry met Ann Eager, and the two soon formed a partnership built on love, laughter, and mutual respect. Larry and Ann made their home in Chadwick, where they shared a life marked by simplicity, companionship, and unwavering support for one another.

Though he logged countless miles on America’s highways, Larry’s proudest accomplishment was his family. He helped raise four sons—Jeff, Joe, Jim, and John—and passed down to them his tireless work ethic and no-nonsense wisdom.

Those who knew Larry remember him as a man of few words but deep values. He was straightforward, honest, and loyal. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and found great contentment in home, family, and a job well done.

Larry is survived by his devoted partner and companion, Ann Eager of Chadwick; his four sons: Jeff Bibler of Findlay, Ohio, Joe Bibler of Findlay, Ohio, James (Maria) Bibler of Chadwick, and Jonathon (Tami) Bibler of Marion, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Sue Creaters of Carey, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Norma Bibler and Luella Brouweller; and a brother, Garold Bibler.

Private services will be held by the family to honor Larry’s life.
