Kimberly K. O'Neill

September 17, 1963 — March 31, 2024

Kimberly K. O’Neill, of Savanna, IL, passed away surrounded by her loving family Sunday, March 31, at her home. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 7th, at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. There will a luncheon to follow at Savanna Moose Lodge in Savanna, IL.

Kim was born September 17, 1963, daughter of James Foley and Sandra Cook. She grew up in Savanna, and attended Savanna Schools. Kim graduated from Savanna High School with the class of 1981. Kim lived around Savanna her whole life, and in 1993 began dating the love of her life, Tim O’Neill. Kim and Tim married on February 25, 1995. Together they celebrated 29 years of marriage. Kim was registered nurse for most of her working life. She took advantage of every opportunity to help people on the job. After her Mom passed away Kim felt the call to work in Hospice. She began to work for FHN Hospice, first as a nurse, but soon was promoted to Hospice Operations Leader. She worked in Hospice for five years until her passing.

Kim could be over the top, and always wanted holidays to be perfect and memorable. Christmas was always a gem. Kim gave great gifts and loved showering her kids and grandkids with presents. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, where she got the opportunity to put her craft skills and sewing to use. She loved to make costume for herself and all the kids. Halloween was a big celebration in the O’Neill house.

Kim loved to travel, and took every opportunity she could. Some of her favorite trips were with Tim and Family to the Smoky Mountains as well as traveling to Alaska with Tim, and Ireland with her sister. She was always planning the next trip with family, and gave her kids and grandkids many experiences they will never forget.

Kim was a great lover of animals, and always had many pets. Throughout her life she had many dogs, cats, birds, parrots, and even a couple pigs. Towards the end of her life she was especially close to her rescue cat, Edward, and enjoyed time spent laying around the house, with Edward laying on her head. The heart of Kim’s life was her family. She was a proud mother, and a very proud grandmother. Her grandchildren were her entire world, and she would do anything for them. Kim’s kind heart lives through those she loved most.

Kimberly will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Tim O’Neill of Savanna; three daughters, Montana (Richard) Houzenga of Rapids City, IL, Bridget O’Neill of Savanna, and Samantha (Gary) Hale of Scranton, IA; five grandchildren, Gunner, Tobias, Keegan, Mila, and Vanessa; her father, Jim (Barb) Foley of Freeport, IL; two siblings, Kevin (Patti) Foley of Savanna, and Kristine (Mark) Diephuis of Thomson, IL; her Uncle and close friend, Wes Cook of Belgium; three nephews, Austen (Caiti Seibert) Diephuis of Savanna, David (Suzanne) Foley of Milledgeville, IL, and Mike Foley of Savanna; and many cousins. Kimberly is preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Mangler; her step-father, Marvin Mangler; her father-in-law, Bob O’Neill; and both paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents.
