Kevin was born October 8, 1958, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Donald J. and Geraldine (Poteracki) O’Sullivan. He graduated from Gordon Tech High School in Chicago. Kevin married Angela Walters on June 27, 1981, in Lombard, Illinois.
With optimistic enthusiasm, Kevin always greeted you with a smile. His life glass was always half full. He looked forward to every adventure in life. He was gentle, generous and kind. He loved his family and friends, and was always ready to make time for playing with his children. Some of the things he enjoyed the most were large gatherings of family and friends, sharing life around a table with a large meal and quality time with friends and family which included games and family activities. Bringing spontaneity and fun to life, Kevin made simple things fun and memorable; whether flying a kite, sitting around a camp fire, carving pumpkins or building an enclosure for a new group of animals, he had a way of making even the mundane fun. Kevin grew up a city boy with a wanderlust for farming and raising animals, so for the last decade, you would find all kinds of creatures on his land. He learned to fish, hunt and trap. Ministering to others, Kevin loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. You instantly liked Kevin and he brought you to a better place. He will be greatly missed; his appreciation of all this life has to offer will never be forgotten. Kevin’s energy, optimism and laughter will continue to live within all who loved and respected him.
In his work life Kevin did many things. He was always ready for and embraced change. As a teen he worked in fast food, then sold shoes and became a manager of a shoe department. After that he became a kitchen & bath salesman and then managed a couple of stores for home remodeling. Longing for more adventure, he opened his own business for kitchen and bath remodeling. In more recent years, he worked for Olan Mills as a salesman for family/church photos and most recently was a granite salesman at the Floor Show in Dubuque, IA.
As a child Kevin served as an alter boy. As an adult Kevin served as a church elder for a season. Most recently he became a member of Galena Bible Church.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Angela O’Sullivan; two daughters, Jessica and Jenna O’Sullivan; three sons, Joshua (Morgan) O’Sullivan of San Antonio, Texas, Jonathan O’Sullivan and Jeremiah O’Sullivan; one granddaughter, Hartlyn O’Sullivan; and three brothers, Michael (Anna) O’Sullivan of Granville, Illinois, Steve (Anna) O’Sullivan of Carpentersville, Illinois, and Mark (Julie) O’Sullivan of Algonquin, Illinois.
