Kayla Marie Gonyier

Kayla Marie Gonyier, 37, passed away on June 13, 2026. She was born on June 21, 1988, in Clinton, Iowa, to Daryl Gonyier and Carla Siegwarth.

From the day she was born, Kayla was a fighter. Throughout her life, she faced many health challenges with strength, determination, and resilience. Despite the obstacles she encountered, she remained kind-hearted and caring toward those around her.

Kayla lived in Savanna, Illinois, and worked over the years at Big Meadows and in various seasonal positions. She was known for her warm heart and perseverance through life’s difficulties. She was also a 2007 graduate of West Carroll High School.

Kayla gave birth to three children who were adopted into loving families. Though life’s circumstances led them on a different path, they remained an important part of her life story.

She is survived by her father, Daryl (Rhesa) Gonyier of Clinton, Iowa; her mother, Carla Siegwarth of Savanna, Illinois; her brothers, Derik (Alexis Laborn) Gonyier of Mt. Carroll, Illinois, Antonio Gonyier of Clinton, Iowa, and Marco Gonyier of Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico; and her sister, Erika Gonyier of Savanna, Illinois.

Kayla was preceded in death by her infant son; her brother, Daryl Gonyier Jr.; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Kayla’s strength, courage, and loving heart will be remembered by all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of life gathering will be held 5 to 7 PM Wednesday, June 24 at Law Jones Funeral Home, Savanna.
