Kay Snow, age 76, of Clinton, IA, passed away Monday, April 8, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna, IL. A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the Law Jones Funeral Home in Hanover. Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials will be given to local charities, continuing in her spirit of kindness and generosity.
Kay Ellen (Stewart) Snow was born and raised in Hanover, IL, daughter of Norman (1915-1978) and Nona (Campbell) (1923-2018) Stewart. She attended Hanover Schools, and graduated from Hanover High School with the Class of 1966. She was very active in all school extracurricular activities, National Honor Society Member, and liked by everyone she ever met. Kay married the love of her life, Larry Snow, on June 29, 1998, in Hanover. Together they celebrated 22 years of marriage until Larry’s passing on February 13, 2021.
Kay had worked for United Airlines, living in Atlanta, GA, for a number of years. She later moved back to Illinois, living in Chicago, and eventually back to the Hanover area. In her spare time Kay liked taking country drives in the convertible, and loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. Her and Larry also enjoyed traveling and going hot air ballooning together.
Kay will be dearly missed by her two brothers, Stanley (Nancie) Stewart of Lombard, IL, and Joseph (Sally) Stewart of Bettendorf, IA; three sisters, Sandi Stewart of Rockfalls, IL, Cynthia Hedeman of Raymond, IA, and Debra Gunther of Aurora, CO; three step-children, and many nieces and nephews. Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents, Norman and Nona; two brothers, Neil and Raymond; and her brother-in-law, Clarence Gunther.
