Kathryn L Schildwachter

Kathryn L. Schildwachter, 81, of Savanna, Illinois, died Sunday, January 27, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Burial will be in Lanark Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in Kathryn’s memory

Kathryn was born May 20, 1926, in Savanna, the daughter of William and Elsie (Gump) Uphoff. She attended Savanna Schools. Kathryn was united in marriage to Lloyd J. Schildwachter on June 15, 1946, in Mt. Carroll. Lloyd passed away on August 19, 1996. Kathryn was employed at Elkay as an Inspector for several years. She was a long time member of the Moose and the TOPS Club in Savanna. Kathryn enjoyed arts and crafts, knitting, and crocheting. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Kathryn will be dearly missed by a son, Jack Shildwachter and Laureen Eadie of Hanover, Illinois; a daughter, Sandra (Dwayne) Green of Maquoketa, Iowa; a sister, Virginia Leavens of Savanna; three brothers, William (Ida) Uphoff of Paris, Tennesse, James (Eleanor) Uphoff of Grand Junction, Colorado, Robert (Carol) Uphoff of Morrison, Illinois; four grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Maxine Detrict, Ruth Rodda; one brother Jay in childhood; and two grandsons, Toby and Timothy Schildwachter.
