Kathi Thulen

Kathi Thulen, age 60, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Swedish American Hospital, Rockford. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Savanna Bible Church, Savanna, with Reverend Michael Meyer officiating. Burial will take place in Savanna Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Rolling Hills Progress Center or the Savanna Bible Church in Kathi’s memory.

Kathi was born February 1, 1959, the daughter of Wayne and El Rose (Atkins) Thulen in Savanna. She attended Savanna Schools. Kathi worked for Rolling Hills Progress Center for the past 35 years. Kathi enjoyed crosswords, completing puzzles and listening to music. She also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and the Minnesota Vikings.

Kathi will be dearly missed by two brothers, Bill (Ginnie) Thulen and David (Brenda) Thulen, both of Savanna; one sister, Linda Eley of Mosinee, Wisconsin; and a brother-in-law, Ed Haring of Shannon, Illinois.

Kathi is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and El Rose; three brothers, Michael, Paul, and Robert; one sister, Elsie Haring; and one brother in-law, Sam Eley.
