Karen Joann Nolting, age 67, of Preston, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Finley Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2005, at the Green Island Congregational Church of Green Island, Iowa. Reverend Iola McCutcheon will officiate. Burial will be in the Hazen Cemetery, Springbrook, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Green Island Congregational Church in Karen's name. Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Arrangments provided by Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa. Karen was born June 27, 1938 the daughter of Melvin and Leona (Tarr) Teeple in Bellevue, Iowa. Karen was a graduate of Miles High School. On September 13, 1959, Karen married Henry C. Nolting in Green Island.Karen worked for Jackson County Home Health Care, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Ladies Aid Society at the Green Island Congregational Church. Karen enjoyed listening to church services on the radio and television; she liked playing bingo at home. But most of all Karen loved and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren.
Karen will be deeply missed by her husband, Henry; her son, Dwain Nolting of Preston and her daughter, Diann Nolting of Clinton, Iowa; three grandchildren, Kevin, Katie and Tomi Jo; one sister, Janet (Eugene) Gruhn of Sabula, Iowa; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents.
