Junior T. "Pat" Gilbert

Junior T. "Pat" Gilbert, age 78, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2006, at his home. Private Family Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 24, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna. Burial will take place in the St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Savanna.
Pat was born on September 8,1928, the son of Thomas J. and Augusta W. (Dumbach) Gilbert in Warroad, Minnesota. Pat married Cecelia M. Parker on December 26, 1950 in Clinton, Iowa. Pat was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineer's Local 150 and was employed by Herbert-Shelly Construction in Hanover, Illinois for over 35 years and retired in 1979. Pat enjoyed his yearly family fishing trip to Spooner, Wisconsin. He liked picnicking, watching his children play softball and watching the Chicago Bears and Cubs. Most importantly, Pat loved spending time with his family and friends.
Pat will be dearly missed by his wife Cecelia of Savanna; one son, Thomas (Barbara) Gilbert of Savanna; nine daughters, Marilyn (Matthew) Altensy of Savanna, Vickie Trybus of Savanna, Karin Molinari of Rockford, Illinois, Pamela (Salvador) Mendez of Savanna, Doreen (Butch Miller) Gilbert of Savanna, Gail Ann Themas of Savanna, Cathy (Kyle Koeller) Eagle of Lanark, Illinois, Kim (Jeff) Knouse of Savanna and Cece (Michael) Mallow of Savanna; twenty-two grandchildren, Earl, Veronica, Michael, Vincent, Samantha, Tiffany, Judy, Danny, Christopher, Angela, Aaron, Amanda, Adriane, Joshua, Austin, Rebecca, Jennifer, Sean, Jefferey, Brian, Josee and Paige; fourteen great-grandchildren, Cody, Connor, Izabella, Zoe, Colin, Rylie, Wyatt, Drewby, Owen, Mason, Gabriel, Michael, Chyenne and Corbin; one special niece, Sherry; and one special friend, Cody.
Pat is preceded in death by his parents; two infant daughters, Claudia Ann and Marie Sue; three sisters and two brothers.
