Judith (Judi) A. Risinger, age 75, of Savanna, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in Apache Junction, Arizona. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 in Spring Lake Cemetery, Savanna.
Judi was born on May 25, 1941, the daughter of Earl and Mary (Miller) Hart in Savanna. She attended Savanna High School, and graduated with the Class of 1959. Judi married Gerald (Jerry) Risinger on May 1, 1960 in Savanna. They celebrated 43 years together until Jerry’s death on April 21, 2004.
Judi worked as a hair stylist at the Vogue Beauty Salon in Clinton, Iowa for 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Community United Church of Christ in Savanna, the Savanna Moose Lodge, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, the Savanna Jaycees and the Savanna Junior Women’s Club. Judi was an avid soap opera watcher. She enjoyed playing bingo and keno, country dancing, singing with her friends, taking and collecting photos, and telling stories about her son and grandson. Judi also liked watching sports—especially the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Miami Heat.
Judi will be dearly missed by her son, Michael (Tammy) Risinger of Moorhead, Minnesota; one grandchild, Levi Risinger; a brother, Bill (Kelly) Hart of Springfield, Missouri; and one sister Kathy (Ron) Fossett of Mt. Carroll, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Risinger, and her parents, Earl and Mary.
