Juanita B. Coleman, age 83 of Mount Carroll, Illinois, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the Provena St. Joseph Center, Freeport, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. Burial will take place in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.
Juanita was born on October 28, 1928, the daughter of Max and Delma (Monn) Rodenburg in West Allis, Wisconsin. She was raised in Illinois and lived in many different towns while growing up. Juanita married Theodore B. Coleman on May 27, 1967.
Juanita cherished taking care of her family and their home. She worked outside of the home for Law’s Turkey Farm and for Green Giant when it was in Lanark, Illinois. She also worked for various local restaurants and the Eaton Corporation in Savanna. Juanita most recently worked at Atwoods in Mount Carroll for twenty-five years before retiring in the late 80’s. She enjoyed volunteering at the Mount Carroll Senior Center and loved to travel out West with her husband, Ted. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and liked canning her fresh vegetables. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Juanita will be dearly missed by her husband, Ted of Mount Carroll; three children, Gwen (Daryld) Gahm of Mount Carroll, Chris (Charlie) Mason of Mount Carroll and Ted (Teresa Davis) Coleman of Chadwick, Illinois; eight grandchildren, Shanna (Ryan) Bess, Ashlynn (Joe) Roman and Theron Mason, Tel Fehlhafer and Tyrel (Jeanette) Fehlhafer, Casey (Courtney) Coleman, Benjamin (Jennifer Dempsey) Coleman and Nikki Davis; five great grandchildren and a special friend, Eleanor Eisfeller.
