Joyce Alice Winkler

Joyce Alice Winkler, age 71, of Charlotte, Iowa died Wednesday, November 30, 2005 at Finley Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2005 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sugar Creek,Iowa with Father Edward Botkin as Celebrant. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Sugar Creek, Iowa. Friends may join a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. with visitation till 7:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2005 at Miller-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Preston, Iowa. Joyce was born November 8, 1934, the daughter of Robert and Amy (Spafford) Leigh in Clinton, Iowa. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1954. Joyce married Damian M. Winkler on April 16, 1955 in Clinton.
Joyce enjoyed being a homemaker, she spent many pleasurable hours, baking, doing crafts and rug making. Most of all she loved and enjoyed her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sugar Creek Iowa.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her husband, Damian of Charlotte; four daughters, Alice (Darwin) Behn of Preston, Iowa; Dorothy (Clint) Petersen of Charlotte, Iowa; Suzie (Brian) Hoffmann of Charlotte, and Amy (Jim) Horst of Clinton; two sons, Mike (Karla) Winkler of Gooselake, Iowa and Marcus (Jacalyn) Winkler of Preston, Iowa; two sisters, Marj Hansen of Washington, Iowa and Suzie (Ed) Junge of Camanche, Iowa; and fifteen grandchildren
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Janet Bopes; a twin sister, Carol Martin; two brothers in-law, Glen Martin and Lyle Hansen.
