John E. "Pete" Dunham, age 58, of Hanover, Illinois, died Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Hanover, Illinois. Cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 22, 2006 at the Law-Jones Funeral Home in Hanover. A memorial fund has been established in Pete's name.
Pete was born on April 20, 1948 in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Harold and Juanita (Hume) Dunham. He married Christine Monroe on June 29, 1969 at the United Methodist Church in Hanover. He attended Hanover High School and graduated with the class of 1966 and later attended Barber College in Rockford, Illinois. Pete worked for the Eaton Corporation and then for Invensys in Hanover, Illinois as a Supervisor for over 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, morel mushroom hunting and cruising the country roads. He loved spending time with his friends at the Viking Inn and the Bootlegger in Hanover.
Pete will be missed by his mother, Juanita "Barney" (James) Riley of Hanover, Illinois; two daughters, Jennifer Dunham of East Dubuque, Illinois and Lindsay Dunham of Hanover, Illinois; two brothers, Michael (Sally) Dunham of Foley, Alabama and David Dunham of Hanover. Pete is preceded in death by his father, Harold.
