John R. Morrison

John R. Morrison, age 95, of Hanover, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Crestridge Care Center, Maquoketa, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 23, 2007 at the Law Jones Funeral Home, Hanover, Illinois. Daniel Griffin will officiate. Burial will take place in the Derinda Methodist Cemetery in Derinda, Illinois. Memorials may be given to Heartland Hospice, 1660 Embassy West Drive, Suite 301, Dubuque, IA 52002 or the Crestridge Care Center, 1015 Wesley Drive, Maquoketa, IA in John's memory.
John was born in Derinda, Illinois the son of Thomas and Christianna (Randecker) Morrison. John married Edith Chapman on December 27, 1942 in the First Presbyterian Church in Hanover. After nearly forty years of marriage Edith passed away on September 13, 1982. John farmed his entire life on the family farm in Derinda. John enjoyed fishing and was an excellent baseball player in his youth. Most of all John loved ballroom dancing with his wife Edith.
John will be dearly missed by his brother, Harvey Morrison of Stockton, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edith; two brothers, Lawrence and Maynard; and four sisters, Gladys Ryder, Genevra Ehrhart, Carolyn Hillman, and Clarabelle Raw.
